The Cascadian Prize for Choral Composition

The Cascadian Chorale and its board of directors regrets to announce that annual competition for the Cascadian Prize for Choral Composition has been suspended while we evaluate this program. The board plans to resume the Cascadian Prize in 2006 with the goal of providing greater incentives for composers of choral music. Please check this website periodically for further developments.

The board would like to thank past contributors to this contest. We look forward to reviewing future submissions.

About the Cascadian Prize

The Cascadian Prize is an annual choral composition contest sponsored by the Cascadian Chorale. Each year a theme is selected, and submissions of new choral works that support this theme are accepted from a wide range of choral composers.

Each finalist's piece is performed by the Cascadian Singers at the spring concert with additional music of the director's choice. The Cascadian Singers is the Chorale's 16- to 20-voice chamber ensemble. All Cascadian Prize finalists receive a cash prize and a CD of the performance.
